A Bentley, an F250 Platinum truck, two Mercedes Benzes and two BMWs were stolen from the Bentley Pittsburgh dealership along Route 19 early Thursday morning. Chief Sicilia says the crime started across the street at the Warrendale business, where the same group stole multiple rental car license plates for use on Bentleys.
The chief says the thieves then broke into the Bentleys, tampering with each car’s key box.
“We entered the license plates and vehicles into the NCIC so that any police officer in the country who exploited that plate or that VIN would come back stolen.”
Now it looks like the thieves have left the state and the cars are long gone. Police have so far been able to locate a Bentley that was found abandoned in Summerville, West Virginia.
