Lamborghini records 86% growth in India and has sold 400 luxury cars

Last year, Lamborghini passed the sales milestone of 300 luxury cars in India. A third of those 300 cars sold were Urus SUVs.

Lamborghini has sold 400 super luxury cars in India, registering an 86% increase in 2021.

Lamborghini India has reached the milestone of delivering 400 Lamborghinis across India since its launch in 2007, recording 86% growth in the country. The Italian brand, with showrooms in cities like Bangalore, Delhi and Mumbai, has outperformed rivals in the super luxury segment like Porsche or Ferrari. Urus, one of the fastest SUVs in the world, remains the brands best-selling car in India.

Last year, Lamborghini passed the sales milestone of 300 luxury cars in India. A third of those 300 cars sold were Urus SUVs. The company is likely to launch the facelift version of the Urus SUV later this year. Besides the Urus, Lamborghini also sells its Huracan sports car in India. It is available in Huracan EVO, Huracan STO and Huracan EVO RWD Spyder models.

Lamborghini CEO Stephan Winkelmann recently said that the Italian brand sees huge potential for its cars in Indian markets. He said: “I think in India there is a huge opportunity for growth, because there is great wealth around the Indian market, and we will see how that develops. What we can see in the Indian market is that more and more very wealthy people are entering the market. We believe there is a growing demand also in the Indian market in the coming years.”

2021 has been the best year for Lamborghini worldwide in terms of sales and profits. The super-luxury carmaker had recorded record sales of 1.95 billion euros, a 19% increase on 2020, with 8,405 cars delivered worldwide. This is a 13% increase over delivery figures in 2020, with the most notable increase coming from the Americas and Asia-Pacific regions. The United States remains the biggest market for the brand, followed by China and Germany.
