Eifelrennen will present Kremer-Porsches and Group C racing cars

The Nürburgring in Germany provides the perfect stage for the Eifelrennen, an annual event where a wide variety of cars will be driven on the circuit, from the dawn of the automobile to modern supercars. The next edition will feature great classic and racing cars, but the Kremer-Porsches and Group C races will be the stars of the show.

Kremer is a Cologne-based motorsport team known for their tuned Porsche racing cars which have competed internationally. Their greatest achievement was victory in the general classification (and a third place as well) in the 1979 edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans with the highly perfected Porsche 935 K3, at least one of which will be present in addition to the other Kremer- Porsche. .

Group C racing was an endurance racing category introduced by the FIA in 1982 to replace Group 5 racing, where the Porsche 935 was the main protagonist. Group C was very popular in the 1980s and produced some of the fastest racing cars ever made. A few of them will take part in the Eifelrennen, including a Sauber Mercedes C9, a Jaguar XJR5, a Nissan NPTI90 and the Porsche 956, which still holds the record for the best time ever on the Nordschleife.

The Eifelrennen program will also include classic racing cars that have already competed in the DTM, GT and Formula series. In addition, Mercedes will bring some cars of historical interest and many car clubs will be present, GTspirit will also be present. This year’s edition of the Eifelrennen will take place from June 14 to 16.
